THE HAND SIGNS: THEIR MEANING, the Mudras of the Myths of the beloved Gods.

In Jujutsu Kaisen the characters make various hand signs to use their powers, especially the ” Domain Expansion” and you’ve probably wondered if there was any meaning behind it. The answer is yes: there is a meaning to each of the signs made by Sukuna, Gojo Satoru, Fushiguro, Mahito and Jougo.

Ryomen Sukuna

Ryomen Sukuna

The Sukuna mudra is Emma Ten-In’s hand sign. Emma is the King of Hell, the World of the Dead, said to be Human before becoming a Demon King who terrifies the spiritual.

Gojo Satoru

Gojo’s mudra is that of Teishakuten, who is also known as Indra. In Hindu mythology, Indra is the most powerful of the gods and also the ruler of all the gods.

Megumi Fushiguro

Megumi’s mudra is from Yakushi Nyorai-In, the Medicine Buddha! Like Megumi, Yakushi has 12 Celestial Generals that he invokes with him.

Jougo

The mudra of jougo is that of Daikokuten, God of Destruction! The domain of the “mountain” of Jogo is Kailash, where Shiva (the Destroyer) lived with his family in peace.
