The setting is a parallel world to Fate/stay night where the Great Grail mysteriously disappeared from Fuyuki after the Third Holy Grail War. After many years of silence, at the same time as the Holy Grail War would have taken place, the Yggdmillennia, a family of mages, openly declare their separation from the Mage Association and that they are in possession of the Grail. The Association sends fifty magicians to retrieve it, and all but one are instantly slaughtered by a mysterious Servant. The rest manage to activate the Great Grail’s reserve system, allowing a total of fourteen Servants to be summoned.
