Blue Lock

After reflecting on the current state of Japanese soccer, the Japan Football Association decides to hire the enigmatic and eccentric coach Jinpachi Ego to fulfill their dream of winning the World Cup. Believing Japan lacked a selfish striker hungry for goals, Jinpachi starts Blue Lock – a prison where three hundred talented high school strikers from all over Japan are isolated and pitted against each other. The sole survivor of the Blue Lock will earn the right to become the striker of the national team, and those who are defeated will be banned from joining the team forever.

One of those selected to take part in this risky project is Yoichi Isagi, a striker who failed to take his high school soccer team to the national tournament. After choosing to pass to a teammate who failed instead of scoring himself, he couldn’t help but wonder if the results would have been different had he been more selfish. Using this golden opportunity provided by Project Blue Lock, Yoichi aims to clear his doubts and pursue his ultimate wish – to become the world’s greatest striker and lead Japan to victory at the World Cup.
